From February 12th to April 23rd 2025, Bratislava’s School of Design – Bohumil Bača Private School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and the Centre for Folk Art Production presented the results of their cooperation and student work reflecting the relationship and connection between art, crafts and traditions on the one side and contemporary design and new technologies on the other.
The exhibition “Overlaps – an inspiration for young generations” showed the opportunities and perspectives for connecting art schools to the creative industry and professional world, as well as the relationship between traditional folk art and contemporary design tendencies. This public presentation of student work in a professional gallery environment outside the school also offers the public a brief overview of the content, topics, creative approaches, level and tangible results of the education provided at one of the Slovak schools of applied art.
