As part of the concept of the ÚĽUV Open Studio activity, the year 2024 was exceptional not only in terms of its output, but also of its approach to work itself. We already presented certain prototypes which were finalised earlier in the issue no 2/2024 of the “Remeslo, umenie, dizajn” [Craft, Art, Design] magazine. One of the Open Studio’s additional activities was the set of thematic workshops where new products were born, and which also brought some advances in design. In addition to the opportunity to consult the emerging designs in the studio itself, we also decided to take advantage of the opportunity to work directly in the producers’ workshops. The workshop entitled “Linen Creations” confirmed the importance of direct contact and interaction between producers and artists during the design process. It appears that this path of synergy is meaningful for the future, too. On the one hand, thanks to the artists, producers perfect the artistic side of their products, and on the other hand, the artists appreciate the new knowledge and experience obtained through craft.
