He is dedicated to sculptural creation. From hard wood of fruit trees, he carves stylized heads that he smooths and polishes to highlight the shapes of the object, the structure, and the natural color of the wood, creating various interesting effects in his sculptures.
Since 2000, he has been engaged in artistic carving activities. He is a founding member of the carving society developed by fantasy – SPOROFA, which was registered with the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic in 2002.
His work focuses on revealing and accentuating the beauty of wood in connection with the typology of the human face, applying a strong stylization shortcut. He does not finish his sculptures with color, allowing the original and natural color and beauty of the wood to stand out.
Alfonz Havránek notices the civilization that he captures in the expressions of modern people of the 21st century with a similar outward appearance but with a deeply internal individual world.
The key idea of his work is his own creed “The more heads, the more reason”, giving his work a timeless sense and a deep human dimension.
