The manufacturer has been actively involved in production since 2005. After finishing school, he set up his own workshop as a “dream space” for his creations. At that time, he worked in many civic associations dealing with old carpentry structures and stone work. He deliberately started seeking out elderly people in various regions of Slovakia (northern Spiš, upper Nitra, eastern Slovakia) in order to obtain valuable information about traditional crafts. Subsequently, he began to focus on weaving with natural materials, more precisely the technique of making root and vine baskets. These techniques interest him, especially in terms of their application in contemporary design. Alongside basket-making techniques, he also spent a long time developing work with bark in the form of traditional shepherd’s vessels. In addition to classic carving with chisels and gouging, he also deals with turning wet wood, bending, cutting with a chainsaw, and more. He uses both traditional old tools – chisels, axes, two-handed knives, as well as modern machinery and industrial technologies. Currently, he focuses mainly on thin-walled objects with a thickness of two to seven millimeters. The distinguishing feature of his products is often the natural flaws in the material, which he uses to enhance the artistic aspect of the object. He prefers simplicity of shapes and visual purity. In his range, you will find various shaped and timber utility containers, vases for dried flowers, combs, jewelry, and traditional ladles. He also specializes in the production of turned wooden lampshades. Typical of these lampshades is that the wood is processed to very thin thicknesses. His products are characterized by precise craftsmanship and perfect surface finish. Considering the woods used and the form of the products, they can be considered unique solitaires designed for a contemporary modern interior. The manufacturer regularly participates in the Masters’ Days festival organized by ÚĽUV.
