He acquired the basics of making wicker baskets from split wood from his grandparents in childhood and later from his father. He devoted himself to basket weaving alongside his job, actively since 1948. Initially, it was only for personal use. He started with simple shapes of baskets – round and oval baskets, baskets for carrying wood, backpacks for carrying potatoes, and various other tools used in agriculture. Over time, he applied his acquired skills to expand the range with new shapes. He began to focus more intensively on production after retiring. He often presented his products in Klenovec and its surroundings. He collaborated with the municipal office in Klenovec and also participated in Gemer-Malohont folklore festivals. Since 1998, he collaborated with the ÚĽUV (Centre for Folk Art Production). He led a course in the production of wicker baskets at the School of Crafts. In 2006, he obtained a certificate awarding the qualification of master of folk art production in the field of wicker production, issued by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Competence of Workers in Folk Art Production.
