He was immediately captivated by bronze casting as soon as he had the opportunity to see this production with his own eyes. Jozef Borároš allowed him to take his first steps in his workshop, supplying ÚĽUV with cast jewelry (buttons, pendants), small bells, and bells at the urging of the artist Janka Menkynová since the early 1980s. At the end of the 1980s, he had to decide whether to pursue his own path in casting or return to work at the factory, and in a short time, he established his own workshop in his garden in Bratislava. He equipped it with tools he made by hand (coke furnace, casting molds made of two parts) and, within six months, delivered his first collection of bells to ÚĽUV. He expanded his knowledge through studying professional literature and consulting with metal casting experts but was most enriched by his own practice over time. While he used to make pendants alongside bells and rattles, he now focuses solely on bells and rattles, achieving a wide range of tones. In addition to folk products, he also produces replicas of historical objects for restorers and collectors. He has been making a living through casting continuously since 1980 and consistently supplies products to ÚĽUV. As he used to say, casting work was always his hobby. In the mornings, he eagerly awaited the moment he could go to his workshop, barely noticing how he reached retirement age. His brother helped him make a lathe, on which he processed smaller bells weighing up to 3 kilograms. He also made larger bells, emphasizing good casting to minimize the need for subsequent surface treatment. Nevertheless, he considered finishing the cast product to be the most time-consuming part of casting work. In 2000, he was awarded the title of Master of Folk Art Production.
