He graduated from the Textile Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. He has wanted to be a fashion designer since elementary school. Since 2007, he has been creating under his brand “Marcel Holubec W. atelier de création” and has had the opportunity to showcase his work in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Finland, and the USA. He focuses on women’s and men’s fashion. His signature style is characterized by minimalist cut solutions and high-quality materials such as silk and leather. His collections often feature a puristic palette of white and black, with occasional colorful accents. He emphasizes not only the architectural vision of clothing, but also transparency, for example. A refined concept is fundamental to his bespoke tailoring. He does not shy away from using symbols in his work, as they serve as aids in uncovering the hidden stories behind what may seem like a mundane object, such as clothing. His preferred technique, which he often revisits, is pleating. In 2019, he designed a collection of urban clothing for a bicycle brand and won first place among professionals in the National Design Award competition.
