As a child, he familiarized himself with straw as a material that can be bent and woven into interesting shapes. He began collaborating with ÚĽUV in 1957, focusing mainly on the production of hanging ornaments from slashed straw using a special technique. His range of products included decorations of various shapes and sizes, abstract and animal motifs (birds, pigs), and various small baskets. For many years, he and his wife Hedviga produced them for ÚĽUV, with Hedviga also making various hanging dolls combined with fabric. In 1984, he received a certificate recognizing him as a master of folk art production in the branch of straw manufacturing, awarded by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Competence of Traditional Craftsmen.
