His grandfather was always tinkering with wood, and although he didn’t have much tools, he knew how to do basic things around the cottage very well. And he always called his grandson to help, who reluctantly – because the other boys were playing football or catching fish or crayfish – had to assist. But in the end, it left something in him that manifested itself in his love for this material.
He specializes in small carpentry production (chairs, stools, cradles, carts, cribs, shelves), also furniture production in the past. He started making things for his own children, and since they liked it, he thought his products could appeal to other children as well. So together with his wife Zuzana Kvasnicová, they began offering their products at craft fairs. In the past, to a greater extent, currently they present their creations only at craft and folklore events associated with showcasing exclusively traditional culture.
Following a recommendation from the artistic committee of the ÚĽUV (Center for Folk Art Production), he gradually focused attention on producing kitchen items. People sought out this assortment, as there wasn’t as much on the market. Currently, the market is more saturated with these products, so Milan Kvasnica, alongside his carpentry production, is also returning to engineering, which he studied.
