She learned embroidery from her mother as a child. She was one of the last bearers of the embroidery traditions in the area of western Slovakia. She mastered the technically demanding techniques of sewing gatier, all kinds of eyelet embroidery. In 1965, she obtained a certificate recognizing her as a master in folk art production in the field of embroidery, awarded by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Competence of Workers in Folk Art Production.
