As a child, he watched his relatives work with wood. They made objects for daily household use. Here he learned the basics of craft skills. He gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the field of folk art during his time at the SNM in Martin. He has been cooperating with ÚĽUV since 1962. His expertise lies in working with wood, drawing, and carving. He applies his professional knowledge to sticks with carved heads featuring various zoomorphic motifs. In recent times, he has focused mainly on carvings. In 2000, he obtained a certificate recognizing his qualification as a master of folk art production in the field of wood production, awarded by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Competence of Workers in Folk Art Production. Milan Lichard’s journey in this world came to an end at the end of 2018.
