He learned the craft of coopers from his father. In 1982, he started collaborating with the ÚĽUV as a producer of cooperage products. His assortment consisted of tubs, buckets, and containers. He maintained the traditional cooperage technology in their production. He only devoted himself to carving sculptures for his own enjoyment. He developed an interesting artistic style. He stylized the body and clothing to a large extent, focusing on a relatively realistic portrayal of the object’s face, capturing the mood and character of the depicted person. In his later period of work, he used natural growths – knots, which he shaped through carving. In the 1980s, he participated in several exhibitions and displays of amateur visual arts in Prešov, Poprad, and Novej Dubnici. He passed away in the early 1990s. A posthumous exhibition was held at the Gallery of Folk Art of Šariš in Raslavice (1997). In 1991, he obtained a master’s certificate in folk art production in the field of woodwork, awarded by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Qualifications of Folk Art Workers.
