She started embroidering more intensively only after retiring, but often had to interrupt due to taking care of her parents, children who were building family houses, and grandchildren. She usually gets to embroidery in the evening while listening to the radio.
She made her first attempts at embroidery as a child – initially using a straight needle, and at around eighteen, she tried embroidery with a curved needle with the help of her mother, Mária Šufliarska, née Melichová from the village of Detva-Dolinky. Her father, František Šufliarsky, made her first embroidery frame.
Anna Nosáľová embroiders only for herself and her family, not for profit. For about two years (2000 – 2002), she worked for a shop, mainly on small items for tables – small round tablecloths according to the shop owner’s requests, who gave her a pattern in the form of a finished tablecloth, and Mrs. Nosáľová drew the pattern with a white pencil on velvet according to a previously made paper template.
She embroiders using the technique of a curved needle on fabric stretched on a wooden frame. She works on pre-drawn embroidery primarily on tablecloths and runners, embroidering stylized floral and simple geometric motifs.
