In his work, two positions can be distinguished. One is the portrayal of traditional motifs in folk and sacred reliefs and sculptures. For a believer, the Bible is an endless inspiration, and even when working on the most common themes, he remains original. The second position of his work is an expression of a sense for modern sculpture, for stylization and abstraction of shape. He follows the material, processes it, lets it “mature” – working with wood is a long process for him, in which he tests his ideas and the material’s possibilities. In this position, he creates to a large extent non-figurative subjects – sculptures and objects originating from the shape of wood or sculpture, and statues that evoke a certain theme or symbol. His unconventional, non-figurative treatment of the theme of the Stations of the Cross is original.
