Native of Banska Bystrica, by profession a conservator at the Horehronie Museum in Brezno. He started focusing on folk art production in 1978. From wooden dishes, he gradually moved on to puppets of puppet theater, figurative sculptures, and other items in his production range (belts, shepherd’s caps), among which turned figurines-toys stand out with their uniqueness. He produces a wide range of folk musical instruments – from various whistles through signaling and percussion instruments, fujaras, to bagpipes. In the last decade, he has also ventured into creating exterior figurative sculptures inspired by traditional folk themes. Holder of the Instrumentum Excellens award from the competition of folk musical instrument makers at the Festival of Folk Arts and Crafts in Detva for the stylishness of the presented collection of folk musical instruments (1982) and for the collection of signaling instruments (2002).
