By profession, he was a painter decorator, calligrapher. As a member of the Púchov folklore ensemble, in 1971 he saw a fujara from Matúš Nosál from Vígľaš, according to which he made his first folk musical instrument. In the second half of the 70s of the 20th century, he was taught how to make trubas by Štefan Mičkalík from Vydrná. He gradually mastered the production of shepherd’s flutes, calls, okarinas, horns, trubas, fujara trombits, sticks and scythes, mostly with ribbed flutes and various children’s sound toys. He is the recipient of the Instrumentum Excellens award from the Folk Musical Instruments Makers Competition at the Folk Art Festival in Detva for searching for traditional patterns and their updating (1981), for the collection of calls (1982), for searching for traditional whistle forms in the Považie region (1983) and for seeking sources in the local tradition of shepherd’s flutes (1985). He is a skillful interpreter of the folk music culture of Považie.
