The traditionally called jug – pitcher is hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel with a shaped opening into the mouth – spout through which liquid is poured. It is externally coated with white clay either fully, or only the front third of the jug, carved verses about wine, painted plant motif on the sides with colored clays, transparent colorless glaze.
