The blanket is embroidered on linen canvas with a regular warp with pearls. Geometric motifs characterize the ornamentation of Horehronie embroidery, in which squares dominated by multicolored threads are embroidered. New simpler and more demanding embroidery techniques are applied. Ordinary and twisted cross-stitch, satin stitch, cutwork, and pea stitch represent the basic techniques in Horehronie embroidery. In addition to them, many others are represented, such as “krokvička,” “mešterka,” chain stitch, and “krivinka.”.
