The blanket is embroidered on factory linen canvas with colorful beads. Geometric motifs characterize the ornamentation of the Horehronie embroidery, in which embroidered squares dominated by different colored threads. New simpler and more demanding embroidery techniques are applied. Basic techniques in Horehronie embroidery are ordinary and twisted cross stitch, satin stitch, cutwork, and seed stitch. In addition, many others are represented, such as chain stitch, twisted stitch, and scallop stitch.
