The pitcher is popularly called a jug. Handcrafted on a potter’s wheel with a narrow shaped neck, flattened into four sides, handle attached with slip, fired once, coated with white opaque glaze, with a vertically painted geometric decor, fired a second time in an electric ceramic kiln.
Vlastimil Havlíček trained at the Majolika Modra School of Applied Arts, where he worked for some time. In the 1980s, he became independent and worked for the ULUV (Center for Folk Art Production) as a majolica maker.
