About product
The vessel is commonly referred to as an owl jug according to its shape. Handcrafted on a potter’s wheel, with a closed neck and a small spout similar to a bottle, the handle attached with slip, fired once, coated with a white covering glaze, painted with plant colorful (single-color) decoration using majolica colors, fired a second time in an electric ceramic kiln.
Vlastimil Havlíček trained at the Majolika Modra School of Applied Arts, where he worked for some time. In the 1980s, he became independent and worked for the ULUV (Center for Folk Art Production) as a majolica maker.
