Popularly called jug – pitcher is hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel with a shaped mouth into a spout – groove through which liquid is poured. The exterior is covered with white clay either entirely, or only the front third of the pitcher, inscribed verses about wine, painted plant motif on the sides with colored clays, another alternative is painted plant decoration on the front of the pitcher on raw clay, transparent colorless glaze.
