A hedgehog sculpture, made from red clay, crafted by hand. The animal is standing. Its back is covered with a layer of clay pressed through fabric, representing spikes. The body is dark brown, and the spikes are reddish-brown. Colorless glaze. Damaged/broken front leg.
The last Slovak master potter Michal Polaško-Garbar from Pozdišovce, born in 1883, discovered pottery through hollow ceramics in his father’s workshop. He started his own production in 1990.
