Clay sculpture of a lion, made from red clay, handcrafted. The animal is standing, tail turned upwards. The head and part of the body covered with a layer of clay on the grooved surface, depicting fur. Front half is dark brown. Colorless glaze. Damaged/missing hind leg.
The last Slovak master potter Michal Polaško-Garbar from Pozdišovce, born in 1883, discovered pottery through hollow ceramics in his father’s workshop. He started his own production in 1990.
