A pillowcase made from a single width of homegrown hemp canvas. The pillowcase is embroidered with red cotton around the edges in the middle. The floral motif around the edges depicts bouquets of flowers, the motif in the center represents a pelican plucking its feathers to feed its young with its own blood, the central stripe depicts pairs of birds facing each other. The techniques used include cross stitch, chain stitch with a seed stitch, and stem stitch.
