The bonnet is made from 4 rectangles of factory canvas, sewn together with a connecting stitch. The embroidery thread is undegummed silk thread. The upper part of the bonnet is gather and sewn with a rectangle of patterned calico. The embroidery on the front of the bonnet is sewn with backstitches and cross stitches. The front edge is hemmed. A fold is sewn at the bottom, with a striped tape threaded through it.
