Splints weaving workshop

ÚĽUV organizes SPLINTS WEAVING WORKSHOP in the frame of the European Days of Arts and Crafts.
The workshop is aimed at familiarizing with the process of making a splints basket from the beginning to the final product – collecting, steaming and chopping the wood, preparing the splints and weaving.
The workshop will be led by master of folk art production FLORIÁN ŠAVRTKA from Liptovské Revúce, who learned the technique from his grandfather. The practical workshop is intended for more experienced basket makers, offering the opportunity to see the production process to the general public.
