Cloth designer Lea Fekete started her professional career at the beginning of the 80s, and she is currently one of the most prominent personalities in Slovak fashion design. From the point of view of her current focus, a collection inspired by folk clothing is surprising. She successfully introduced this idea at the Igedo contract trade fair in Düsseldorf in 1993 under the section: New Fashion Generation. “I like exploring the techniques which were used to make clothes, everything that was needed to make them and the objects that created them. Unfortunately, ‘homemade’ clothes are not currently regarded as good enough, but I think this should be the other way round. Some homemade things are extremely sophisticated, and this also includes clothes.”
