A rare collection of woollen bags characteristic of this region can be found in the collections of Horehronie Museum in Brezno. They come from the first part of the 20th century. They were used to carry food and smaller loads, but also served as pillows or covers for bed. They were sewn from home-woven broadcloth. Embroidery, initials or signs were embroidered on the empty part of the textile with brown or black woollen thread. At the end of the textile, longer tassels remained, to which brown or black threads were connected. By felting, the embroidery became a compact part of the textile, and the tassels kept their strong form. Nowadays these bags are used as textile accessories during folk events.
