The Museum of Forestry and Wood Industry in the town of Zvolen organised the ninth competition for the best… wooden toy. Two categories were announced: toys for mass production and originals, prototypes and models. 58 toys from five contestants registered in the first category. 40 contestants with 63 toys registered in the second category. Students of secondary schools and universities of design and wood processing populated the latter category. Student of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Technology in Košice Lenka Kaslová won first prize for her construction set BUPEN. The jury awarded second and third prize to the 1st year students of toys and decorative products at the Secondary school of applied art in Ružomberok for their collection of animal-shaped tables. Construction set BUPEN was awarded the main prize for the best… wooden toy. The jury has recommended the set into the mass production.
