Silk or brocade dresses once represented luxury and the social status of the person who wore them. And it´s the same even today. Contemporary designers still seek out these luxury materials. What inspires them when applying luxury textiles or haberdasher goods? Where is their use heading and what does luxury and social status expressed through cloth mean today? We asked personalities from the Slovak visual arts, who themselves work with luxury materials when creating their own artworks, or while teaching, for their opinion.
