Stain as a recorded memory

Stain as a recorded memory

Ema Stoličná

The artist and textile designer Cara Maria Piazza grew up in New York surrounded by concrete walls, but nature found its way to her heart and she fell in love with it instantly. During her last year at the Chelsea College of Arts in London she came across with natural pigments for cloth colouring during a workshop. That was a turning point which gave a deeper sense to her ambition to create with responsibility towards nature. Her intention to work ecologically responsibly she fulfils perfectly, she dyes her cloths with natural plants pigments exclusively and uses for instance the waste from flower shops, flowers after celebrations and parties, natural minerals and some food items as well. She creates original textiles with an idea that for instance a wedding bouquet colours turned into clothes can become a magical memory of the wedding day.
