The Centre for Folk Art Production (ÚĽUV) has been devoting itself for over 70 years to the beauty of folk craft, and we can safely say that applying aesthetic criteria is part of its very essence. At the very beginning of the organisation’s activities, there was a need for advisory bodies; one of these was the ÚĽUV fine art committee. It was intended to be a collective mind, to help objectivise the often ungraspable and subjective side of beauty. Qualified and responsible people from outside the organisation became members of the committee. Although the current working practices of ÚĽUV’s fine art committee are slightly different from in the past, it remains a place for providing producers with a spontaneous advisory service.
