Waxed decorated eggs by Anna Cimbaľáková

Editorial board

Anna Cimbaľáková from Bardejov was attracted to decorating eggs as a child at her godmother’s house, and enjoyed watching her work. The smell of melted beeswax and the eggs decorated with it stuck in her memory to the extent that she began to try decorating eggs herself. Today she has been devoting herself to this art for over twenty years, and she hasn’t stopped at chicken’s eggs; her work includes decorated quail, duck and ostrich eggs. She is always inventing new patterns, but the motifs and colours remain traditional. Her favourite patterns are flowers and lace.
