When the editorial board asked me how it is possible to make a living from design, and to use this information in teaching, the first thing I thought of was the opposite. Making a living from teaching, or from a teacher’s salary is possible. Design can make dreams come true. Spiritual and material dreams. I didn’t realise it at first, but my design work made my dream of having my own house with a studio and workshop come true, my dream of travelling and making new friends and my dream of self-realisation. I separate my design work into two parts: on the one hand there are experimental exhibition projects with uncertain profits and on the other orders which bring immediate financial benefit. Sometimes these two overlap or follow on from each other. However, they are often separate. What is excellent is that I can regulate for myself, according to my current needs, which part I decide to work on.
