We live at a time of paradoxes. The need to create something with our hands is booming, but the path leading to traditional technologies is complex: knowledge of them is gradually disappearing and we have the last few years to acquire from living craftsmen and technologists their valuable experience as well as their production tools. Difficult times interrupted the vigorous development of textile crafts and industry not only in Slovakia but also in Europe. What is important is the energy of the young generation with its insatiable thirst for searching, preserving, innovating textiles and giving it back their pride. One of the good examples of this is the foundation of the Industrial and Craft Textile Centre, which was launched in 2021 as part of the Atria IT factory focused on producing woollen thread in Čadca. It is the continuation of a long-lasting tradition.
