In 2014, the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava applied to the grant programme EHP 2014-2021 Slovak Republic. It was successful with its “Empathy in Art” (EMIA) project which encompassed several activities. Its main aim was to support the varied activities of the FAD Creative Centre. A key aspect of its efforts and creative direction was empathy – that is getting “under the skin” of someone else, as the fundamental premise for accepting difference or integrating marginalised groups, as well as a potential tool for fighting extremism.
