Mária Štraneková
I have been actively creating my own work in fashion and art since the beginning of the millennium. However, I have been creative since I was a child and many of my activities were directed towards illustration, textile and experimentation. After studying to be a fashion designer at what was then an elite technical school in Trenčín, I continued at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, from which I graduated with a Master’s degree, following by a doctorate. During my studies, I went on foreign study visits and work placements in renowned fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen or Preen London. They might be far back in the past, but for me they were an important moment in the process of shaping my own work focus.
