Bast fibres are natural fibres made from the stalks, leaves and fruit of plants. In our lands, they were obtained from flax, hemp and nettles. The technological method for processing them does not differ greatly; differences are only in the time it takes for the plant to mature and then to open up the fibres. “Fibre/texture/woven textile” is the name of my dissertation in which I dealt with the possibilities for combining materials and weaves in the technique of weaving. Alongside working on my own structures, I also focused on the focus of various materials, taking into consideration their specific qualities. Natural materials are an inspiration for perfecting the development of chemical fibres. This has enabled us to create materials which are functional and can change their properties during the creation process. Combining natural materials with chemical ones still has much to reveal.
