Glass exhibitions

Editorial board

Currently we can recognise the work of Slovak glass artists who exhibit their creations not only in galleries at home but also abroad. Dissolve and Paint – the name of the exhibition reveals much about the technology Palo Macho (1970) uses to create his pictures: he layers paint or drawings on sheet glass, which he then composes into a compact object. When painting on glass, he uses all the qualities of paint – perspicuity and covering ability, the glitter and lack of lustre of pigments and metals. Patrik Illo (1966) divides his work between glass design and free creation. He uses classical working techniques with melted glass, and while creating he works with it as if it were sculpture material. Oliver Leššo (1973) has a unique concept for processing two types of glass – clear optical and colourful composition glass.
