A Dress for a Princess

A Dress for a Princess

Eva Ševčíková

The fashion designer Jana Gavalcová is the author of three models of dresses with a distinctive name the Slovak national costume for the finalists of the international competition Miss Universe 2012. She chose a traditional material – blueprint as a major component representing the Slovak traditional culture and combined it with the modern technology Elements Hot Fix Rhinestones. These are found in large numbers on the dress, which evoke the regal brilliance and luxury, while supporting white-blue pattern of blueprints.

This is a specific cut of a large size consisting of up to 64 parts. Despite the “folksiness” of the material, dresses looked “like the princesses of fairy tales” thanks to the combination of style, decorative trimmings, but also the blueprint ornament itself.
