How can be drawings embodied in space

Ema Stoličná

Gavin Worth, an actor, set designer and artist in particular, perceives sculpture in his own way. It is as if he takes off the paper his neat, elegant line drawings and somewhat miraculously transforms them into space, creating sculpture without the third dimension. As artist, he has always been interested in two things: figure drawing and creating sculpture. Since his early years, he has been passionately looking for appealing and novel ways of how to use materials, mainly those that are common. When he first saw a black steel wire disc, he knew exactly what he could do with it – make a drawing embodied in space. In this interview, the renowned artist reveals his unusual art and its processes, and talks about his life, inspiration and successes.
