If you are interested in designer jewellery from Slovakia, you have dozens of skilled crafts people to choose from. However, if you add the criterion ,,with a Slovak soul”, the selection of suitable artists is quickly reduced. Katarína Žiaková is a young jeweller from the Horehronie region, who has been working under her own brand KATARINA ŽIAK since 2016. Her work is interlaced with references to Slovak history, in the form of textile techniques, various embroidery and lace motifs or the literary works of our great writers. The jewellery from her workshop is elegant, contemporary – even timeless – and although it has not been on the market for long, it has also aroused interest abroad.
