Tomáš Kompaník
The graphic designer Tomáš Kompaník describes his journey to embroidery. During his discovery of Vietnam, he realised that although Vietnam and Slovakia are thousands of kilometres apart, their inhabitants have many things in common. This is why he decided to plan another journey on his return, but this one would be across Slovakia. This is how the AHA 100 project came about, in which he decided to map out 100 villages in Slovakia and find one person in each of them who has a close link to traditional clothing and can tell him a little about their embroidery. The project should be published as a book in autumn 2020.
