During the summer months, the Slovak National Gallery is hosting a thematic exhibition devoted to photographer François Kollar. Originally from Slovakia, the French artist was known for his versatility and never-ending innovative approach to his work. Having emigrated to Paris in 1924, his beginnings in France were those of an amateur. However, thanks to his perseverance and ability to accept new challenges of his times and inspiration, he gradually became one of the most wanted fashion photographers. Thus the exhibition François Kollar: Un ouvrier du regard – A Working Eye, organised by Galérie nationale du Jeu de Paume in Paris, travelled to Bratislava where it was launched under the same title – François Kollar: A Working Eye.
