Metod Salva was awarded a Master of Folk Art Production title in 2015, for originality his works display and for his high manual dexterity in the field of hand-made weaving executed on the weaving loom. His techniques comprise drawn thread weaving, as well as weaving with plain, faille or twill weaves. Feeling it is a women’s craft, people often ask him why he engages in weaving. His reply is simple: in this way, he revives traditions and keeps them alive; the first weavers were men and it was only later, when men started engaging in other crafts, that women took over. “I have always enjoyed working with my hands in a variety of materials. Once you start doing something intensely, you become passionate about it. And once you are passionate about it, you strive for excellence in that particular field,” said Metod Salva.
