Not so long ago, children used to play mainly with objects they could find in Nature such as cones, twigs, pieces of wood, little stones, clay and so on. Such games supported and further developed their fantasy, inspired them to create their own stories and enjoy themselves. The role of resources readily available in Nature was to serve immediately, in the form of toys. Once the game was over, the child could easily dispose of his or her “toy”. Toys per se were rare and valuable, even if simple and made by relatives. This was confirmed in our poll to find out what toys our producers used to play with and what their favourite games used to be.
