Weaved baskets, straw table mats or little corn dolls – these are still quite a common part of decorations in Slovak homes. Their unifying sign is the material – natural wickerwork. The ecology aspect of natural material for weaving in combination with its easy growth in our environment represents an interesting potential. Despite this fact, its use in Slovakia and its production is limited only to decorations and smaller household accessories. But once creative thinking unites with tradition and with skillfully worked quality material, the result is not a too traditional piece but quite a timeless one.
