Pál Benko
Cattail has been used as a very common material for the production of different weaved objects in the areas of western as well as in the southern of Slovakia. There were two dominant techniques – the spiral and twining. This native wickerwork is slowly being forgotten nowadays, but one can still find people who dominate this craft at an almost professional level. Pál Benko – the author of this article is presenting his experience and work with this material.
