It is this soft material from natural fibres that inspires Ondrej Eliáš’s work. Visiting this pleasant, thirty-something man, we talked with him in his hometown Trnava where he still lives and works. Having studied design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Design, he strives to make objects that are not only aesthetically pleasing but functional as well and his works, however, always convey a humorous message, or reveal the essence of their purpose. What really takes his work to the next level are exhibitions and competitions in which he participates. At the same time he maintains that the greatest challenge, when working with felt, is its price because it influences popularity of the works made of felt.
